I'm looking forward to this like a hole in the head. Baggy Trousers is a Classic Madness song and should be left well alone. _________________ I'm having bags of fun |

Lads, we're missing the point here. It's the opportunity to get unprecedented publicity that has inspired the cover. They are going to get 2 full minutes at half time during an England match with probably about 10 million people watching. That is astounding
2 full minutes for one advert is massive in terms of tv adverts. That is 4-5 normal adverts and then add in the size of audience at prime time. Massive pat on the back to their managers Blackburn and Gadsdon for this scoop. Any bad of any size would kill for this publicity and nothing in the band's history compares. When DJs refuse to play new Madness tunes, any publicity needs to be seized upon. How Folgate got to No 5 without airplay for any of the singles is an under-rated achievement.
In terms of what it will sound like, the samples thus far tell you nothing of what it will sound like as it's all mashed up. I would like to hear more Madness tunes slowed down. It's only when you hear My Girl live with the slow intro that you realise how nice a melody it is. Absolutely beautiful piano and any time I hear it, I always say I'd love to hear My Girl slowed down from start to finish. At its crazy pace, the brilliance of the melody gets lost. You could say that about quite a few Madness numbers. Playing music at 100 miles an hour tends to make a tune unappreciated sometimes I think. Our House is another example of this. The melancholy of the song gets lost in the version we all know and love. |

At Half time about 7 Million of those people will be going for a P*** the rest will be at the Bar or out having a smoke and who ever is left watching the Advert when the slowed down version appears on screen they will say to each other F*** me this Kronenbourg is strong stuff _________________ I'm having bags of fun |

It sounds like a totally different beat as well, with no skank, which means it isn't even ska. _________________ F-F-F-F*CK ART, LET'S DANCE! |

It sounds to me that the slowed down version would sit well on The Liberty CD which is a masterpiece by the way.
It's for an advert on the telly and showed you what bands used to be like "when Britain did have talent" |
Touché young man.
Baggy Trousers isn't Ska in any guise! _________________ Forget what Huey Lewis told you, its NEVER Hip to be Square. |

You're right, come to think of it. It was a case of my false memory adding a skank. _________________ F-F-F-F*CK ART, LET'S DANCE! |
