Just wondering, how long does it take for the USB to arrive? My dad pre-ordered the Glasgow one for me, and it's not arrived. My dad hasn't told me anything about it. I was just wondering in case I've missed something I was to do. _________________ http://morespecials.tumblr.com

It looks as if the USBs are no longer available to order on specialslive. _________________ www.wailers.co.uk

I assume they are still catching up on orders, so I wouldn't worry just yet. I'm waiting for Brixton and Alley Palley on CD, but as these are the last two I'm not expecting them just yet.
Anyone who ordered online got their gigs yet? Just wondering what ones have been mailed so far. _________________ www.wailers.co.uk

USB release cancelled. Buyers should have had an email (I got my email today). You can get a refund, swap to CD or get a CD from an alternative venue if you ordered both for the gig you attended, like I did with Ally Pally.
You also get a link to download the MP3s of the gig you paid for.
I've asked if there is a possibility of getting a code to use on The Specials' Merch site as I didn't have time after Ally Pally to get the item I wanted.
Wording of official email:
"The Specials USB Announcement.
Dear Specials fan,
We are writing to you to let you know that despite everyone's best efforts we have been unable to deliver enough visual content to make the USB a proper quality product. So it is with regret that we are cancelling it's release
We will of course offer full refunds or if you prefer we can switch your order to the CD and you can chose another CD from the tour at no extra cost. Just reply to this email stating your preference.
Everyone who ordered the USB will find a free download of the corresponding show in their members area which you can download now.
Once again we apologise for the disappointment we know this will cause.
Should you wish to discuss this further just hit reply and I will do my best to help.
Best wishes
David "
Disappointing, but at least they've put some effort in before making this decision. _________________ a tale of woe: a yahoo group for fans of Terry Hall and all his work.

Unseen Footage Indeed I would love to see some of that 2008 Rehearsal Footage now that would be worth a peep I bought 5 live CD's at the gigs I went to I couldn't be bothered ordering on-line _________________ I'm having bags of fun |

Hi Paul,
I ordered online as I knew I would have no time after Ally Pally to fart about trying to collect the CDs etc. before heading off to get my train. This also meant I couldn't buy any merchandise, as I don't like hanging onto it during a gig.
This turned out to be a doubly good decision based on the amount of piss being thrown around Ally Pally. I would have been seriously annoyed if new gear had been taken home stinking of piss.
Being soaked in flying piss is one aspect of Specials live gigs I won't miss. Should they announce any more gigs hopefully I'll have forgotten about it by then...
Wish I had lipstick on my shoes,
Instead of piss stains on my shirt,
I went out on Thursday night... _________________ a tale of woe: a yahoo group for fans of Terry Hall and all his work.

Dunno if it was piss being lobbed or not. Some got me on the hand and it was cold so I assumed it was the water that was being handed out...!!! (either that or the person was dead). I can take a laugh as well as the next man/woman, but it's a shame if it was piss because that ain't funny really. Still, had a great night at the gig and needed a shower when I got in anyway (too hot...!!!) |

I was at the very back at Ally Pally. I'm used to beer and water. The thing that landed on me and a few mates late on in the show when everyone was at least warm was hotter than my skin as it landed on my bald head and shoulders. I had never had liquid land on me at gigs that was warmer than me before that Thursday night.
Unless anyone can come up with a better explanation I can only conclude that the stories of people pissing in pint glasses and then throwing it were true.
Not pleasant, but I wasn't about to let it ruin my night...
If what landed on you was cool or cold it was either beer or water. Either that or chaps were holding pint glasses of piss until they cooled down. Think yourselves lucky. _________________ a tale of woe: a yahoo group for fans of Terry Hall and all his work.

Has anyone heard any more regarding the below email about the USB cancellations? I emailed 'David' back the same day I received it but haven't had a reply or received a cd of the gig.

I've had the USB part of my order refunded. That was nearly a week ago. so I cannot understand why they've not processed the CD order at the same time. _________________ a tale of woe: a yahoo group for fans of Terry Hall and all his work.

Immediately after typing my last message it struck me that if everyone who ordered a USB but not a CD changed their order to a CD that Abbey Road Live may have sold out of CD covers as they ought to have processed revised orders from earlier in the tour first.
I also wonder if the USB stick and box were ever manufactured? If so if a few slip out blank they will go well on the collectors' markets.
My Madness ones from 2009 are actually presented quite well, hence why I ordered CD and USB for Ally Pally. _________________ a tale of woe: a yahoo group for fans of Terry Hall and all his work.
