Looking forward to this and as with the Horace, Pauline and Nev's autobiographies, doubtless I'll read the whole thing in a weekend. Very Happy

Had a look at the blurb on Amazon. What's this about him signing away his song rights "in perpetuity"?

If you fancy doubling up with what looks like another brilliant music book then this is being released in October also -

My girlfriend has ordered me the audiobook CD for Christmas, not that I'm too lazy to read or anything.
I think Horace's book is still under my bed on a page somewhere in the middle of the USA tour, has been like that for a few years now. I did read Nev's book all the way through though.

He doesn't have much to say about most things in his autobiography. He paints an interesting picture about growing up in Soho but after that he just skims over most things at a great rate of knots. Fair enough it's not a history of Madness, but they are a huge part of his life (and the reason he is famous) but I was surprised just how few details about the band are contained in the book.

I would pick Suggs in The City any day over his autobiography.

The only books I've really enjoyed reading are The Two Tone Story, Ska'd For Life, You're Wondering Now and Sent from Coventry Smile I rate Paul Williams book the highest because their isn't any other way of finding out about Terry's post Specials career in such great detail anywhere else Smile

I haven't read that book since 2004 and the articles page wasn't on 2-tone.info at that time so I had no idea you had anything to do it it regarding your stolen words.

I do remember reading about you saying that somebody had lifted text from your website but I thought it was from that wheels out of gear book, sorry my mistake.

if that guy had asked you to contribute to his book it would have made things a lot easier?

A page for the book, Sent From Coventry, was added to 2-tone.info very shortly after it's release, within matter of days if I recall. The page lists all the text which was lifted directly from the site. Wally did the text for the post-Jungle Music singles and Eddington also helped himself to some of that as well. A summary of the text stolen is:

Too Much Too Young Page 135
3 minute Hero P139
Dance Craze P177
The Feelings Gone P198
Envy The Love P198
Racist Friend P201
This Are Two Tone P202
In The Studio P202 -203.

Page on 2-tone.info

http://2-tone.info/2tone.pl?display407

If he had asked for a contribution to the book I would have more than likely have said yes, but as it turned out he Eddington proved himself to be a low life thief. As well as taking the work of Wally and I and attempting to pass it of as his own, he took information from 2-tone.info and used it for commercial gain. Speaks volumes about the man.

Sugarman et al.....Suggs in Easons this Thursday at 5pm to sign the book.

I see Madness played the full Folgate album on Friday night including Africa. They also played In The Middle Of The Night, Razor Blade and Close Escape last night.

Both gigs at Butlins of course.
