Personally I'd like a bit more info before I commit my hard earned. Let's have a taster of the new stuff and details of the new members.

i think thats the best way off looking at it, too many people jump the gun, have an opinion, without knowing the facts...a social media desease..

the tour is a longway off, lets just wait and see, and as far as song writing is concerened, people seem to forget terry has written more albums than jerry and roddy put together, in his various guises.. the bloke is a top lyricist..

brad and lynval have co wriiten thier fare share of stuff..
if they do new stuff, dont expect a rehash of the early 80.s it aint gonna happen, and why should they,,listen to the 2 specials albums back to back,

i dont think terry would do new stuff if he thought it was shit..
his album with mushtaq was genius, tho the average ska fan would hate it, cause it aint ska, and thats fair enough. people like what they like. i wouldnt want them to do the same old thing, i want to know as artists what, they have to say today, not in 1979.

Whoever thought they could charge £45 plus fees seriously needs their heads looking at. Now Roddy's gone the appeal diminishes further but what do they do add a tenner to previous prices. Unless I'm really way off the mark then these gigs are going to be half full or less. Maybe I'll be wrong but all the lads I know who have gone in the past are giving it a miss. It's a shame really but the ticket price is taking the piss really. I'll be making every effort to go to Specialized myself.

It is a lot to charge for only 4/7ths of the original line up, I often go to see Ocean Colour Scene who still have pretty much their original line up (with exception of Damon Minchella who left around 2003) and they have continued to produce new music down the years - I would say the average price for one of their tickets is around £25 to £30 with booking fees, and they continue to sell out venues like the apollos
steady line up+ new music + reasonable priced tickets= sell out gigs?

ticket prices are to high for this tour,
seeing the following in the next few months.

english beat £20
nev+dub pistols £17
bad manners £15.00
selecter £20.00
reel big fish and less than jake £25.00
a trio £20.00

i know the specials are a bigger group, but the price dosent offer value for money this time.
shame.

I for one won't be going, like when I heard Nev had vamoosed. I didn't go to the last show over that reason and it's double the reason now.
Have to admit the show in '09 was top drawer in the Olympia something I won't ever forget. That's the picture of the Specials I want to keep in my head. I have to admit I missed seeing jerry up there he's a larger than life personality. Even the lure of new choons wouldn't draw me.
