Great band alright, saw them at Ska Explosion 3 in Herne Bay in 1989 and then again when they reformed for the International Ska Festival a couple of years ago. On both occasions they stole the show. I don't think they captured what they could do live on their studio album though. I thought the best Hotknives album was 'Home', with the 2nd line up, probably my favourite ska album of the 90s |

Fair comment about the studio album. The fellas recorded "The Way Things Are" in only five days and the band themselves admit it was 'rushed'. "Home" was a great album too, I think 'Always Tomorrow', 'Nadine' and the version of 'Driving Me Mad' are the standout tracks. _________________ If you're going through hell, keep going. |

"Skin Up Harry": what the Cure would have sounded like if they played ska. Brilliant. |

Brilliant description Polly ! Feel free to join in the banter on the fans page. The Hotknives (original line-up) were among the driving forces behind the ska explosion of the late 80's (alongside bands like the Loafers and The Riffs) and we celebrate their music here...
