Sorry to hear you didn't fully enjoy yourself last night, I haven't seen The Beat live since 2012, brilliant night though and Everett Morton was still with them then Smile

Roger brought his daughter on stage for a few songs.I think he got a bit carried away with the whole family thing on stage to be honest and with his son on stage showing of the six pack and rapping i think they lost their way abit .on the plus side they did sound great and were full of energy and they old classics were super to hear . Smile

You didn't see The Beat you saw Ranking Rodger playing covers of Beat songs. Good for a night out perhaps, but a million miles from the original band.

I know a couple who felt the same. I last saw them play 7 years ago and half way through the set that night, they took a 'break' and sat down on the stage as a new track which Roger's son had recorded was played over the sound system. The track didn't even sound remotely like the Beat. It was all a bit awkward, the audience didn't quite know what to do.

I have only seen The Beat live 4 times and I enjoyed every show Smile

Now that Everett has left I doubt if I will going to see them again

1982 Dublin (original line up)
2003 London (Roger, Everett, Saxa and Blockhead)
2003 Dublin (Roger, Everett and Blockhead)
2012 Dublin (Roger and Everett)

Correct Fester, I found this comment below on Facebook Smile

Edward Fitzroy (Takes me back to the SFX hall Dublin 1982 brilliant live)

Irish band Big Self supported The Beat twice in 1982 Smile
