Post subject: Some more 2 tone music, solo piano-styled
To add to the versions of 'Stereotype' & 'You're Wondering Now' I've done, here's an instrumental cover of The Selecter's 'Missing Words'.

Absolutely fantastic version, Imani. Nice song choice for that style too. You should do a proper recording of this

Would love to record this and a few others - all I need to do is raise enough to record it on a quality grand piano. _________________ "How can I be anybody else? I don't try, I've got no reason."
This is from a gig I did last week at Impressions Gallery, Bradford. There's a 'Rock Against Racism' photography exhibition touring the country, and for its final date in Bradford, there was a night of live music. Songs: Ghost Town, Stand Down Margaret & Missing Words.

I really like these versions, it's refreshing to hear someone really RE-interpreting these tunes as opposed to simply RE-hashing the originals. One shows guile and skill, the other is stale and boring. Hats off to you Imani, I love the Ghost Town version. _________________ http://www.maribop.com http://www.2-tone.info

Those songs are open to all kinds of interpretations, and that helps give them a different spin. More to come. _________________ "How can I be anybody else? I don't try, I've got no reason."
Keeping the instrumental piano theme - and in the same geographical ball-park as 2 tone, here's a short version of UB40's "The Piper Calls the Tune".

A version of Jose Feliciano's Rain (Listen To The Pouring Rain), a hit for Bruce Ruffin on Trojan Records in 1972, also covered by Madness on The Danger Men album.
