Why NO Ireland gigs?
*
Is it because of Brexit? or generous corporation tax rates?

Never understand when bands tour they leave dublin out, there is always a good turnout and how hard is travel to dublin when your traveling around uk,were only across the water. Very Happy

Compared to the bad old days we are spoilt ...

I remember when bands avoided Ireland like the plague due to the Troubles.

And in fairness to the Specials they have always made it over to us since they started touring again back in 09.

Might still happen - there are one or two little gaps in the schedule. Horace has clan over here. Lynval is half Irish so he told me one time. I'm optimistic !
Very Happy

The song is good though the Drummer hasn't a patch on Brad?

Probably too soon to make a call ... but based purely on the 4 or 5 songs from the opening night in USA that popped up on Facebook, I would say the drummer is a big powerful lad but has not (yet?) got any of the little fills and add-on's that Brad did so well. Maybe unreasonable to even expect him to.

To be fair i think we have to accept this is not the specials of old.As long as they put on a good show and look as if their doing it for enjoyment(hard to tell with terry) and not just money then i dont see any problems. How ever if they seem to be going through the motions and not making the effort on this tour then id rather they would knock it on the head.I recall going to see the police in croke park and there was no chemistry between the guys and you could they,ed rather be some place else and it really took away from the show,

Remember those horrible 1970's Pickwick albums where they'd re-record the backing tracks with session musicians?

For what it's worth a mate of mine drove a round trip of over 11 hours from North Carolina to see the lads last night at the Filmore Venue and said it was well worth it, a fantastic gig.
