It would be great if you could buy a DVD or see a film of the original line-up of the band live in concert.
Today is Paul McCartney's 77th birthday. This clip is from a charity concert McCartney helped organise...

There are a few of full concerts of the original band out there on the t'internet. For example Rock Goes to College, Montreux, Amsterdam and Japan.
There is also a pirate of the Rock For Kampuchea concert doing the rounds. _________________ Richard Eddington is innocent.

It would be nice if they officially released these though. Something for the fans to have for 40th anniversary. Whats the betting we get another two tone compilation later in the year to mark it ? _________________ The past is our knowledge, the present our mistake and the future we always leave too late. |

Nice to see that footage. On another note, I looked through the Twitter thread, I saw someone had claimed that Canary In The Coalmine by The Police was the first ska record. Normally I ignore this stuff but felt I had to 're-educate' that particular poster. |

Great footage Mike - cheers for sharing that - great to see some new old stuff...
re 'Canary In A Coalmine' - is that ska? I have loved 2-Tone music since I first became aware of it (1980 in my case), and have delved into 60's Ska, and a lot of the post 2-Tone stuff and in my eyes that's not ska.
I love XTC and they have a song called Limelight which is more Ska than that Police song - and it's a better song too, obviously in my personal opinion.

awesome footage
yeah, would be really great to own a remastered video footage of the band.
Queen and Pink Floyd released blurays of their footage, we need the same by the specials _________________
