Alan Partridge picks his Inheritance Tracks for BBC Radio Four's Saturday Live. From 2018, if I recall correctly.

It's brill.

Enjoyed that! - what a complex memory of these esoteric song lyrics becoming an antidote for his parents argumentative voices? if the broadcast is a factual response, that is.

When he describes how the nonsensical words made sense to him - I can only think of Edward Lears nonsense poems - which I am just not enlightened enough to ever get.

I now have lots of these broadcasts to listen to! all new to me, many thanks Imani - if one song is inherited and one song to pass on - what would yours be? I know they will be interesting!

My two would probably be first Double Barrel by Dave and Ansel Collins, because it's one of my earliest memories - watching it on TOTP and imitating Dave Barker's toasting.

Since Alan chose a sporty theme tune, I'll go for an even better one. In fact it was probably much better than the show itself (Superstars), which should have been half an hour rather than an hour long - it did drag!
