Post subject: The Two Tone Story Book Reply with quote

I would like to read the book ďThe Two Tone story by George Marshall, but itís out of print. You can get a second hand version for about 35 dollars if youíre lucky. I wonít do that because I donít use credit cards, but also I found a PDF of the book. I have no Ipad, but I got an old and second hand laptop. Embarassed Rolling Eyes

To have an old fashion book version, that I would prefer.
Idea A bookshop here in Amsterdam has got an ďEspresso book machineĒ with which they can print books in minutes for Ä 12,50. Cool They print books from a database, your own written books and books free of copyright, who are in the public domain. From the 12,50 the writer gets the share heís entitled to.

So I informed, but the book isnít in the public domain. So without written consent from the owner they donít print it. Crying or Very sad
Does anybody know how to contact the writer George Marshall or the people who own the rights, if I could get permission to print the book and they get their share then everybody is happy. Very Happy
Can someone help me with this? Idea First of all itís just fun to do this. But can you imagine returning from the concert in Amsterdam, with (maybe) a hangover, a good time and fresh copy of this book.

If that isnít a peace of ska heaven. Evil or Very Mad Cool Very Happy

George is a good friend of mine to whom I am indebited to as he issued the first edition of my book "You're Wondering Now-The History of The Specials" on his ST publishing group back in the mid 1990s and was a prime mover in the skinhead scene and an alternative culture media legend with stuff like Zoot! fanzine ,the brilliant Skinhead Times newspaper, & One Eyed Jack mags.

His son Scott runs the button badge business his dad used to do but if you email them from this site below- it will get to george.

Hi you all,

Finally had some time tell what happened. Embarassed

I had contact with the honorable mister George Marshall and he said quote, After a lot of requests I am looking at reprinting The Two Tone Story this year, unquote." Surprised

He was interesting in the working of "printing on demand." So I informed him the best I could. Like telling him of the Espresso Book Machine in a London bookshop

So great news. We wait and see what happens.

Cool

I am also pleased to hear this news. Very Happy

Top author is George Marshall. The Two Tone Story is a fantastic book, and over the years, I've read it a few times. It kind of calls me back to read it every so often. The new Madness book is a fab read, too.

Now that should be reprinted - I've never managed to get a copy and would love to read it.

Hopefully George will update the book to include the reformation. It's a wonderful book, I must say.
