Bloody good drummer, well tight rhythm, but never hear much about him. Don't even know if he lives in Cov or where. Probs just showing my ignorance but anyone know what goes on in the world of Brad?! _________________ Don't call me Ska face

After recording The Selecter (Gangsters B.side) with Neol Davies John Joined The Specials until they split up in 1981. he then started his own record label "Race Records" Including artists such as The People and Team 23.
John Continued working with Jerry Dammers, The Special AKA and Rico until 1985 he also had his own band J.B's Allstars going at the same time who had a top 40 hit with Backfield in Motion.
In the late 80's John started another band 2 To The Power who released a couple of 12" singles The Flasher and Make My Body Groove both were House Music (Early Dance)
In 1990 John got involved with The Special Beat Featuring members of The Specials and The Beat playing all the 2 Tone Favorites. a few Demo's were recorded for an Album but nothing became of it the band split in 1993.
After Special Beat John Joined Pauline Black of The Selecter in 1994 playing Live for a couple of years then he left. he then got involved with Computer Programming until The Specials Reunion came about in 2008 John is currently based in London. below is a live clip of John and Horace Panter playing with M.I.A. on Jools Holand 2010

I love watching him drum, he always looks really into it...every so often you see a manic grin or him just singing along _________________ Don't call me Ska face

I remember Brad and his family featured on one of those TV programmes (possibly Channel 4's 'Grand Designs'?) where you have your house re-designed by the experts ... I remember thinking it was funny that he was focus of this kind of programme...and that his kid was called Buster (after Mr. Bloodvessel??! )
Anyone else see it? It would've been in the early-mid 90s, I think. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/supertonicsoundclub

It brought a very wide smile to my face, at the time.
But then again, I'm easily pleased

Yeah its probably not his best work!!
I'm loving Brad at the mo, watched the 30th ani tour gig from Wolves last night and I swear I coulda just watched Brad the whole time, he's facinating. Love how he counts in (well he is the drummer!!!) and keeps time, even in between songs. He's a cool looking guy too _________________ Don't call me Ska face

.....really emerged on the reunion tour as the quality drummer he has always been...but has had media interviews this time round that have also shown what decent bloke he really is.....quite obviously relishing the whole experience ,the performances, the crowd reaction, the nostalgia and the fact that they have matured as group of people and been able to resolve all the acrimony (well most of it ) that threatened to blight the groups legacy.
...and I agree he is fascinating to watch on the drums _________________ ..as they sing while you slave, and I just get bored! |
