Post subject: Attention Manchester Rudies!! Reply with quote

Tickets arrived last week so its time to get excited about (for me) the 14th.

Anybody help me with an idea of where the action will be before the gig at the Apollo please? We'll be up early afternoon ish and will be looking for fellow rudies out on the lash!

Only 2 and a half weeks away! I must have phased out for a minute and lost September Wink

Frankly I'm dissapointed Wink

Looks like its a play it by ear job then ... all good.

On the last tour at this venue everyone met up(or over spilled on to the road) at the Aspley Cottage pub on Aspley Grove which is the side street next to the Apollo,if I remember correctly the car park is next to it to Cool

Yep up for the 14th myself, Apollo is pretty isolated so pub right by it as Mikes suggestion is probably the best.

Pity there's no pre sho party organised

I work at Piccadilly and the Bulls Head is a good choice, other than that there is the B Lounge just up the road from the Bulls. Behind the B Lounge is the Northern Quarter area of town which has a handful of pubs, retro bars. etc

Fair point and very well made, so Ive been in touch with Ska Dj from up that way to see what he can sort, given I only sorted tickets yesterday and the short timescales I'm not promising much, but if you don't ask.....

No news back from the DJ I contacted, so it looks like Bulls Head followed by Aspley Cottage Pub

The only other bar I can suggest is Corbieres, in Half Moon St just off St Anne Sq...dark and dingy but well known for having the best jukebox in Manchester

Corbieres is where our party will be on the Friday.

The jukebox will be loaded with Reggae, ska and rocksteady from 5.30 onwards Cool

Yeah, got your mail Chemode. All good.

I've been looking into the suggestions here and I'm staying right by Piccadilly (treating the mrs - we're staying in the macdonald - not the fucking macdonalds before anyone starts Laughing ) so all convenient for me.

The bulls head looks a fair size but I dont think they'll have a decent sound so I thought, the gaff with the jukebox (ronnie corbetts or something ... see below Wink ) first, then the Bulls head cos its on the way a bit later. I say later because we'll be in town about 2-3 ish and will be keen to get on it. A few hours having a skank in the Corbett arms, then onto the Bulls so we dont have too far to walk to the actual venue. I'm knocking on a bit, I may need help. What d'ya say chaps?

Any other suggestions gladly considered, dont know manchester that well.
