There will be a Two Tone/Reggae & Ska disco on at The Foleshill Gas Club before and after the gig. It's a 1am bar.

We had one there on the last Cov gig and it was a good night. It's free parking and right next to the Ricoh (5 minute walk through tesco's to the Arena) - It's also cheap beer!!!

Not sure what time its starting yet so open to suggestions.

The address is:
The Foelshill gas Club
970 Foleshill Road
Coventry
CV6 6EN

If there are any problems with parking etc give Gaz a call on 07970818701.

Wish I had the cash to pay for it all - but with a 10 piece Ska Band/DJ all taking a day off work, and an original member of The Specials DJin- I don't think £3.50 is bad-

3 minute hero, it's very good value indeed.

Lorraine, any nearby land marks to help find the club? I'd imagine anyone unfamiliar with the foleshill road would have some difficulty as it goes for miles.

Don't say car wash, there's 1,000's along that road Laughing

I wish i had better things to do. Rolling Eyes

Lots of editing, hope this is right Lorraine Laughing Laughing Laughing

No facebook or pics of gas club?

I checked aa route planner and i've a very good idea where the gas club is as i passed along that road everyday going to fedex on the longford road. Embarassed Laughing

Travelling from the city centre -A444 route is recommended but if you take the foleshill route, have patience - plenty of it!

Once you get on the foleshill road, keep going and going and going. You'll eventually pass the famous General Wolfe pub (on your left)....and finally reach the roundabout for the A444. (Ricoh's to the left.) Go straight ahead over island, following signs for [Longford.]

Follow the sign to Longford. Past wheatsheaf pub ( on left) and keep going.

The map should help as you pass each street sign Laughing :

Major editing...I'll keep digging this hole.

Sorry I haven't come back about the directions - been to Manchester for the weekend to see The Specials!!!!

If you are coming from the town centre then get on the A444 until you come to the Blue Ribbon Island (Its the island with the strange blue ribbony looking thing that looks more like a flame!) - take the 3rd exit onto Foleshill Road, go past the Three Horse Shoes on the left, then you will see The Wheatsheaf on your right, then its about 200 yards on your right hand side (opposite Arbury Ave). There will be some posters outside so you should see it. If you come to a canal bridge where you can see tesco on your left - you have gone too far so turn around as it's just before the canal bridge.

If you are coming off the M6 - get off at junction3 and follow the signs for the A444 until you come to the Blue Ribbon Island and then follow the directions above!

The Club is open all day but the disco won't start til 6 - parking is free.

Never been to the Coventry but looking forward to it big time. Staying at the Alexander down the road from the Ricoh. The gas club looks like a good bet. What time does it start and is it members only? Also where is a good place for some breakfast in the morning if you don't mind me asking as have a long drive back to clacton, essex the next day?

If your staying near the ricoh i think theres a cafe in the tesco which is five mins away or there is a cafe down holbrook lane (just past the unicorn social club on the other side of the road) and i'm sure that opens on a sunday

Just realised being a plank and I'm booked in @ a B&B so breakfast already included. Handy knowing there's a tesco near though for fuel etc. I'm staying down Burbages Lane so I'll walk past the arena, through tesco onto Foleshill Road & can see the gas club just down the road. Google maps & streetview is a wonderful thing!!
