Post subject: Whatever Happened To Bad Manners ? Reply with quote

Here you are folks. My recent Press article regarding the current whereabouts of the original members of Bad Manners, which was published in The Northern Echo on 5th April.

BUSTER BLOODVESSEL (VOCALS)

The larger than life singer still fronts Bad Manners, and performs concerts all over the world. He has also had cameo roles in a few movies and appeared in an episode of Boon in 1990. Buster also opened a hotel called Fatty Towers in coastal Kent during the 1990s, with delightful snacks such as steak and kidney pie sandwiches on the menu. He is the only original member left in the group.

WINSTON BAZOOMIES (HARMONICA)

The legendary Alan Sayag, aka Winston Bazoomies, lives a quiet life in North London. He states that his favourite band performance took place at a music festival in Finland, just after they found out that Special Brew had reached number 3 in the British charts. He also has fond memories of their many TV appearances on Top of The Pops and his front room walls are decorated with Silver Discs from the band's record sales. Winston rarely sees his former band members, but would like to meet up with them all again one day.

MARTIN STEWART (KEYBOARDS)

Mr. Can Can left the band in 1991 and joined The Selecter. After leaving the 2 Tone heroes in 2006, he has performed with Skaville UK and also alongside Jennie Matthias of The Belle Stars in 1 Stop Experience. He has recently formed a new group called The Skatalysts, with the intention of performing a number of dates in the UK.

LOUIS ALPHONSO (GUITAR)

Lives in Paris. He also joined Skaville UK and recorded three albums with the outfit. The avid Arsenal FC fan is fluent in French, and has lived in France's capital for a number of years.

DAVID FARREN (BASS)

A gifted illustrtor who designed the group's original band logo. He also designed the front sleeve of their Gosh It's Bad Manners album. He currently performs in a tribute act called The Rollin' Stoned, under the moniker of Keith Retched.

BRIAN TUITT (DRUMS)

Works at a rehearsal studio in Kent, and hosts weekly jam sessions at venues in Margate and Ramsgate.

CHRIS KANE (SAX)

Currently the musical director for a Billy Fury show, which will soon embark on a UK theatre tour. Since leaving Bad Manners, the musician has been a music teacher and has also performed with The Jordanaires.

PAUL HYMAN (TRUMPET)

Lives in Middlesex and works in the finance business in London. Several years ago, he wrote a number of new tunes with Buster Bloodvessel and their former school mate, Alan Perry, who has also performed with Bad Manners over the years.

ANDY MARSON (ALTO SAX)

Lives in the East End of London and works as a joiner. In his spare time, he enjoys singing in choirs and also plays the pedal steel in a Country and Western band called The Drawbacks.

Many thanks, my friend. It took me several months to complete the article, but it was well worth the wait, and nice to catch up with them.
