Post subject: Any Coventry Visit Advice Welcome Reply with quote

Looking to spend a couple of days in Coventry to primarily to visit the 2 Tone Village and do the 2 Tone trail Very Happy
The Days Hotel looks reasonable value with a car park. Has anyone stayed there?
Is there anything else in Coventry that's a 'must see'?

You've got to visit the cathedral ruins and the Blitz Museum Exhibition Halfy. I've not been in the new cathedral but looks excellent.

http://www.coventrycathedral.org.uk/visit-us/

Over the road from the new cathedral is the Student Union/Uni Gym that was used in the Rat Race video - you might be able to go downstairs and have a look in - we had a sneaky look when 2 Tone Central.

Try the Transport Museum in the city centre and as Chemode says the West Indian club is really worth a visit - at the end of Spon Street I think.

Nearly forgot - look out for Lady Godiva and the clock on the wall.

Enjoy Smile

I quite liked the Britannia but the staff are very unfriendly and unhelpful, I felt more at home talking to a local man outside while having a smoke. the self service breakfast is great and only £1.50 for a Guinness Very Happy

See the transport museum, went back in may, its free and well worth a look. We stayed at the Premier inn near the belgrade theatre, not bad,did what it said on the tin. Found a great little ale house tucked just behind the premier inn called The Town Wall Tavern, really good if you like real ale.
