Thanks for that Eskanga, an interesting read - didn't realise Dave Wakeling was still touring as The English Beat, I thought he had just stopped performing and that was why he wasn't with Roger in The Beat.
Will have to keep an ear out for Rogers album when its released _________________ Bernie Rhodes Knows - Dont Argue |

Do you remember when you last spoke with Dave Wakeling (from the original incarnation of ‘The Beat’ and now front man with the U.S.-based ‘The English Beat’)?
I physically spoke with him about 8 years ago and spoke with him over the phone about 6 years ago and our last email contact was about 3\4 months ago. I’ve tried my hardest to mend things with him, regardless of what our differences are. Sometimes we’ve just ‘rubbed’ the wrong way against each other and it hasn’t worked out. But as far as I’m concerned my door is always open as far as friendship goes. It’s very difficult, a bit like Lennon and McCartney – we have different outlooks on life. I want to be grounded on earth and with the people – that’s all I know. And I can’t really talk for Dave.

The last time they spoke to each other in person was probably for the "Bands Reunited" show. That`s a shame. They should really "Rub It Better".

Great interview.
Shame Roger and Dave are estranged but you could tell on Bands Reunited something was amiss. All in the body language. |

I'd love to see the Beat play again with Andy Cox, David Steele, and Dave but have to face the fact that it's prob never gonna be on the cards. Too much water under the bridge n all that. _________________ Musical sensation designed to blow your mind! |

Thanks
Great Interview, I bought The Vinyl Collection a while ago so I won't need to buy Wha'ppen again. I also bought the Looking Back CD, so I'm only waiting for Return Of The Dread-I now _________________ I'm having bags of fun |
