arrangement of (Free) Nelson Mandela by The Special AKA, UK no. 9 hit in March 1984 Smile

The opening track on side two of In The Studio (a copy of which is propped up on the music stand). It was written by Jerry Dammers and is in the key of C, although the introduction starts in the relative minor of A minor (on the record, there's an a cappella bit that's in the unrelated key of B major, but I've not played that). I muck around with the order a bit to make it more interesting, repeating the A minor intro in various forms.

Nice one, I'm probably going to start playing that on gigs now. Very Happy There's quite a few two tone and related songs that sound good on solo piano. Cool

That sounds great - and reminds me of Booker T & The MGs "Soul Limbo" (the old cricket music).

Yeah, it always reminded me of that tune, being a cricket and Booker T fan too.
