Lynval doing his usual London guest spot with the Aggrolites last night.
He quipped, "These have been my favourite band for years, I'm gonna leave the Specials and join the Aggrolites".

I'd rather see ensembles of the Specials than all of them at once. _________________ There's still nothing wrong with it! |

I really rate the Aggrolites, I think it's excellent skinhead reggae, but, having asked around a few skins I know, I appear to be in a minority of one. Don't understand why.
Have a listen to Countryman Fiddle and see what you think.

I'm pretty sure he was just joking.

Like Lynval, they have been my favourite band for years also.
I think there's a bit of snobbery with some of the "Original Skins" as you said it's excellent skinhead reggae.
If you was to play an Aggrolites Hammond instrumental side by side with a late 60's Hammond instrumental (CD, so no scratches) to someone who had never heard either, I doubt they would be able to tell which was the older track, and why should it matter anyway!
Also over the years I have found that the majority of the "look the part Skins" are mainly just that, their record collections are non existant or laughable.
I know the band themselves really rate Countryman Fiddle, but it's not one of my favourites, still good though. |

Actually, when I saw them in Harlow on Friday, after the show a group of four, let's just say mature Skins, were talking to the lead singer, saying that they had been won over by them.
Originally dismissing them, but due to one of their younger brothers efforts, were now firm fans. |
