I like the idea of giving some the singles picture sleeves that weren't originally available at the time Smile

The Picture Sleeve for Mirror in the Bathroom was first issued in France 1980

Too Nice To Talk To, Drowning and Save it For Later are new

I hope the singles are all Go Feet paper labels?

There's also a Madness exclusive of Lovesdtruck/Le Grand Pantalon

I hadn't seen the Dexy's release. I was too busy trying to work out if I could justify the £192+ my wants were going to cost. For me it was going to be Madness and The Beat. Oh and Pulp with three vinyl album and three 12" singles! The Ian Dury album looks good, but is well down my list of priorities.

Anyone know the tracklisting on this? I'd like it to include Pato and Roger Ago Talk as it was The Beat. Not keen on seeing Ranking Full Stop/Tears Of A Clown on a mocked up Go Feet label.

There is a Soul Jazz presents Down Beat Special box set of 5 7" singles, and a few Lee Perry releases including Back On The Controls The Session Reels box set of 5 7" singles that I would be interested in (along with The Beat box set, Madness single, and the Spaceape Ghost Town single) - finances permitting.

Just annoyed they are using the French sleeve for Mirror In The Bathroom after I finally managed to track a copy down of the original...

Couldn't get down to Belfast this morning and unfortunately the record shop here in Derry has limited supplies of everything Sad I won't be back in Belfast til Monday morning, so just hoping they have some left. Harry you didn't happen to notice if they had a few of The Beat box sets available, did you?

Cheers

Jim

Sugarman - all the Beat singles have nice glossy sleeves and the Go Feet paper labels. I like that some have foreign sleeves like the Portuguese Tears of a Clown. Booklet has some other foreign sleeves pictured on inside cover and then there is a picture of each of these singles with the original uk catalogue number, release date and chart position.

Jim - a friend of mine bought me Lovestruck not knowing I had got a copy myself earlier so let me know if you need a copy of it and I will buy his copy to sell on to you if you want to part with £17. Beat box set was available in Head in Castle Court and Sick (at a lower price of £56) in North Street. Dont know if there will be any of them left now - I was in at 8am.

I like the fact there is an insert from Jerry Dammers in the Spaceape cover of Ghost Town from the Guardian in 2014 talking about the passing of Stephen Gordon and saying his version of Ghost Town was by far and away the best cover from the very very many Jerry has been sent over the years.

Cheers Harry

I'll check Head and Sick on Monday morning on the way to work and I'll see if I can get The Beat box set.

If you've got a spare Lovestruck and you're happy to part with it, then there's no point me trying to buy another one. That would still leave you (or your mate) with a spare, so better I buy that.

I work in Belfast City Centre, and stay down a couple of nights each week, so I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to arrange to pick it up from you.

Will pm you

Cheers

Jim

Thanks Harry Smile

That Portuguese copy of Tears of a Clown will come in handy as I don't own the original first issue Smile

I will buy Dexys, Ian Dury and Spaceape next week if they are still available ? Smile

Head in Castle Court is a very nice record shop, I bought a few things there last year when I was up for The Selecter Smile

done donald

I hope you find a copy of The Beat box set on Monday, I normally buy 2 copies of each item on my list but I couldn't do that this year because the prices were very high.

The Madness single is disappointing for the price, don't see the point of the 'Toy Theatre', it has the Madness 'M' on it but otherwise relates very little to the band

I see The Beat Tears of a clown has the same Catalogue as Mirror in the bathroom (RSD 2012?)

I'm glad the last 4 Beat singles are now available on paper Go Feet labels Smile

Just noticed that 'Lovestruck' is a slightly different version, a few extra bars towards the end
