It's a good listen. Nice to hear the back stories of the songs and the recording sessions ... also, they both sounded like they enjoyed the interview.

Jerry seemed to talk more about ore about the rest of the band, said Rico was by far the best musician (technically I assume) followed by Horace. Also nods to Roddy and chat about Neville. A shame neither mentioned the contribution of Brad - maybe it's too hard to talk about him.

Yes that's true - though by the sound of it, each one was edited.

Interesting point from Terry in saying the guy who sang before him (Tim Strickland) had a low voice, which tended to slow the music down. 'Coventry meets Cohen'?

Also, if you hear the early Automatics demos that were released, their drummer Silverton, good as he was, didn't have the dynamism and 'kick' that Brad brought to those songs later on.

Inani, I can't agree with you more Brad upped the game massively - I don't think anyone could argue about that..

In other new more on radio 6 tomorrow with Liz Kershaw at 1pm. I'm not aware or not sure if Liz a die hard fan or I ever remembering her championing 2 Tone so we'll see how she does..........

His style was unique, and still is. The nearest I'd say is 'H' whilst he was with Selecter or Stewart Copeland yet they each have their own sound.
