"(Oh) no no No no no"........

The description, 'deadpan' has been used quite 'aptly' before to describe Mr Hall's (vocal) style. It hasn't changed has it?

But Terrys last album the 'hour of two lights had alot of bollocks' again Terry tackling social issues (immigration laws in the UK) And how many other artists have attacked the middle east divide that is very evident today, none other than our Terry. Jason how about a 21st century version of Gangsters with Terry at the helm again. The dub pistols could do amazing things with that track.

I think its the other way around, I like Terry's vocals way better than Roddy's. On the newer stuff where it is Roddy singing older songs that they did, I just dont like it as much. Whatever.

...without being too clear...Mr Hall was no Sinatra.....even during his time. He 'suited' The Specials blend and timeliness.......to 'push' it to another plateau, is not just wishful thinking, it's downright self-delusion!.......a bit like their Labour government at the mo'.....continually telling you one thing, when in actual fact, the truth is steering you right in the face!

a bit off topic here but any guitarists should pick up this month's total guitar magazine. Mr radiation gives a small interview and a few guest lessons, quite a guitarist and i finally learned the intro to monkey man from the article, they didn't say it was monkey man anywhere though.

i prefer terry's deadpan eerie stuff (man at C&A, ghost town, you're wondering now) and the punky stuff (raquel is a great one). a remake of gangsters would be great.

I get you're point, HOWEVER - that was wholly part of his style, and the style was attractive.

I mean, to put it into perspective, it's a bit like Mick Jone's contributions to The Clash (and other 'projects' since).......he was never no fancy warbler, and unless you actually liked his music, you'd probably not be so inclined.
